Passing wind is not only a meteorological phenomenon, but a quasi-slang term about what some would consider a distasteful bodily function, or a play on the fact that a couple of friends’ young children could not pronounce Lindsay very well and called me – perhaps quite accurately, “Mr. Windy”.    The meteorological phenomenon of persistent wind is one we deal with daily here on the north side of Stone Bank, WI.    It is on high ground, mostly devoid of trees and man-made buildings, and the wind never stops.  A Passing Wind is never far from our mind.  Our 15 year old house with its recalled shingles facing into the wind just had a new roof put on.   We just figured that sooner or later we would have to have a roof put on.  We have a friend who is a recycled roofer, and the new 135 mph architectural shingles look great.   One more thing off the list of things we must do but will probably never have to do again.  We give a wink and a smile, and the choice of taking whatever meaning you want from it!  Cheers!
